ARNETTA MARTHA PETERS March 25, 1914 March 8, 2008 Arnetta Martha Peters passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the age of 93, with her family by her side. Her strength of spirit in overcoming many years of health challenges and her warmth and kindness always shone through. Born at Stony Hill, near Laird, Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter of Louis Zulauf and Katherine Lindner, Arnetta was raised on the family farm with her two brothers Herman and Martin and sister Alice. A graduate of Saskatoon City Hospital in 1941, Arnetta started her Nursing career at the Red Cross outpost hospital at Loon Lake, SK, continuing at the Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver, and the General Hospital, Victoria Hospital and Deer Lodge in Winnipeg. Arnetta married Andrew Peters on October 7, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stony Hill, settling in Winnipeg. Arnetta and Andrew enjoyed several winters in Arizona, and many trips across Canada and to Germany, visiting her treasured family and friends. In 1997, she moved to Calgary and resided at the Edgemont Retirement Residence where she enjoyed many activities and attending to her bountiful balcony garden until moving to the Carewest George Boyack in March, 2007. She is survived by her sister Alice Bergen, son Ronald Peters and daughter-in-law Cherie Ranson-Peters, grandson Nicholas Peters and his fiancée Stacie Palmer. A Celebration of Arnetta's life will be held at First Mennonite Church in Winnipeg, March 29 at 3:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff of Carewest George Boyack as well as Dr.'s Wachowich and Malm for their kind and compassionate care. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Arthritis Society, 105 386 Broadway, Winnipeg R3C 3R6.
