HANNS AUGUST BAUER February 21, 1931 - March 5, 2008 Peacefully and after a lengthy illness with cancer, our Dad and Opa and Friend gracefully fell asleep with family at his side. Dad is survived by his daughter Ingrid and son Hans and their spouses, his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving partner and soul mate of the past 21 years, Betty Hazen-Campbell, her sons and daughters, Ian, Lynn, Leigh, Grant and Marcie and their spouses, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Before his illness, Hanns loved to travel, especially by car, and has probably seen most of Canada and the United States. He was incredible on computers and helped many to figure them out. He loved crossword puzzles, Scrabble, all manner of card games, and the TV show Jeopardy,' plus he was completely nuts about golf. Hanns was a gentle man and always saw things in a positive light. A star has been added to Heaven, and all who loved him can look towards the night skies. We will miss you and love you forever, Dad. The family would like to thank all doctors and nurses who cared for Hanns, and particularly all the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital's Palliative Care Unit. The care and support provided was incredible. There will be no service. If friends and family so desire, donations in Hanns's memory may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
