Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONNA ANNE HARRIS (nee THOMSON) October 2, 1940 - March 11, 2008 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Anne Harris of Woodlands on March 11, 2008 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her father Robert Thomson and a brother Robert Thomson Jr. She is survived by her longtime friend and husband Walter (Wally) Harris; mother Anne Thomson; brothers George of Winnipeg, Jack of Calgary. She is also survived by her special Aunty Aggie Dopson and cousin Gordie of Gunton, and several uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Donna was a loving caregiver to her husband Wally. She took great pride with her gardening. She coached softball several years in the Warren Woodlands area. She loved entertaining and on several occasions dressed as a clown to greet passengers coming into Warren on the Prairie Dog Central. She was especially proud of her matchmaking with Bob and Claudette Carter, her match made in heaven. Donna also belonged to the Woodlands Legion and enjoyed helping out in community events. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's memory may be made to Southwest District Palliative Care Inc., Box 1282, Stonewall, MB, R0C 2Z0, (204)-467-7118. We would like to thank Dr. Mohamdee and staff for their more than caring ways during Donna's illness, all the doctors and staff at CancerCare, and the doctors, nurses and staff at the Stonewall Hospital for their loving care. Wally's special caregiver Heather and all the other homecare angels who were there for both Donna and Wally through this difficult time. Also a big hug to Vivian Heller, special nurse and friend. To Wally and Donna's neighbours, Elsie, for all the wonderful meals and to Einar, for keeping the yard plowed and getting Wally in to see Donna at the hospital. And thank you to Jean Marshall for being there for Donna during her time at CancerCare and during her final days; and to Brent for all the cheerful visits. And finally to all others for the visits, kind words and flowers. Thank you just doesn't seem enough for all your support. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
