LORRAINE FOGA (AHOFF) July 27, 1936 March 13, 2008 Suddenly, March 13, 2008 we lost our loved one, Lorraine. Lorraine was predeceased by her father George Ahoff, and special aunt Kay Petrocchi. Her memory will be kept alive by her mother Jean and brother Lawrence (Randi) as well as her children, Debbie, Dawn (Blaine), Darrell (Tracey), Diane (Kenny) and Darci (Rob). She had nine wonderful grandchildren, Jenni, Jade (Arleen), Miranda, Brandt, Blaze, Challis, Hailey, Jayden and Katiya and great-grandchildren, Shaelyn, Darla and Kyla. She will also be missed by Sharilee and Morgan and many extended family members and close friends. Lorraine grew up in North Winnipeg attending Earl Grey and graduating from Kelvin High School. She loved school and all sports and was on many of the school teams. Lorraine lived in Alberta for awhile and returned to Winnipeg to raise her family, settling in East Kildonan. She was a very independent woman who singularly raised her five children during a time when it was not common. She instilled morals and good values in all her children. At age 64, Lorraine retired as a keyboard operator from the Taxation Centre after 30 years of service. During her employment, she made many lasting friends, some who still get together during the Christmas season to reminisce and catch up. There were many things that Lorraine enjoyed. During her life, some of her interests changed, though her love of nature, gardening and flowers was a constant. She enjoyed watching the birds out her window, always watchful for one she had not seen yet. She was an avid collector, amassing a large souvenir spoon and varied crystal collection to name only a couple. Another constant in her life was her daily conversations with her mom- some of which were very spirited to say the least! She enjoyed her time spent with her friends at their foot parties' or going on their gambling excursions. She took pleasure in teaching her grandchildren to play cards. Family gatherings were very important to her and she always enjoyed her grandchildren/ great grandchildren conversations. Celebration of Lorraine's life will be held on Wednesday, March 19 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society. We love you and will miss you forever. Funeral arrangements in care of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE WEST AT BOND ST. 224-1525
