Date of Passing: Mar 16, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINGRID JONINA SIGURDSON It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our daughter and sister, Ingrid. Unexpectedly on Sunday, March 16, 2008 Ingrid went home. Remaining to forever cherish Ingrid's memory are her father and mother, Walter and Margaret Sigurdson; brothers, Brian (Vera) Sigurdson, Stephen (Kellie) Sigurdson; nieces, Adair Sigurdson, November (Jay) Varga of Calgary; her aunts, Sina Finley and Mabel Tinguely; uncle Roger Tinguely; several cousins from Winnipeg, Gimli and Saskatoon; she will be especially missed by her best friends, Karen, Barb and Lisa. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents August and Jonina Eliason; paternal grandparents Siggi and Olifia Sigurdson; aunt Hedy (2002) as well as her aunt Jonina (2005). Born on June 30, 1965 in Gimli, MB, Ingrid moved to Winnipeg with her family to Spruce Street in the West End where she lived most of her life. She attended St. Edwards School and Isaac Brock Junior High and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate in 1983. As a child Ingrid was often at the community club playing ringette and hockey. Ingrid had been working on the thing that she loved the most, her poetry. For the last year and a half she had been employed by Convergys, Ingrid being a night owl would work the overnight shift giving her more time to work on her beloved poetry. She loved her job and made many friends. Ingrid will be greatly missed by us all. A private family service for Ingrid will be held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, at the corner of Sharp Boulevard. You may rest your burdens, there is no more pain God has given you wings.

I created a facebook page for some of us who went to school with Ingrid to share some stories. If you would like to view it, join it, or have others made aware of it, here is the link http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=27799725047 I haven't seen Ingrid in a number of years, but grew up on Ashburn and went to nursery school and Isaac Brock with her...then met up with her at DMCI. I am very sorry to hear about Ingrid's passing, and my prayers are with you to keep you strong during this time. - Posted by: sherril martin (Friend) on: Mar 25, 2008
