Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE VICTOR HAGUE 1916 - 2008 George passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2008. George was predeceased by his loving wife, Nellie and his brother, Albert. He is survived by his sister, Marg. His loss is grieved by his sons Tom (Barbara), John and Ab (Wendy) and grandchildren Tyler, Adam and Jesse. George was born on June 17, 1916 and grew up on Winnipeg Avenue. As a young man he enjoyed music and played in various bands. He started several small businesses before joining the Canadian Air Force during the war. After the war, he brought Timberlox Wood Finishes to Canada, later purchasing Northern Paint. He handled the sales side of the business, which he loved. Later in his career, he built several apartment blocks, which he was actively involved in, right up to his passing. Throughout the years he enjoyed working with Eli Hiller, the property manager. George built his house on Birchdale Avenue in 1948 and was able to reside there until his death, with the support of his son, John. He also built a cottage at Brereton Lake in the early 50s and loved spending time there. He was an avid golfer, first at St. Boniface Golf Club, and later at the Niakwa Country Club. He enjoyed travelling with Nellie and they saw a large part of the world. George had a positive attitude and lived his life fully. Cremation has taken place. There will be a funeral service at St. Thomas More Chapel, 66 Birchdale Avenue in Norwood on Tuesday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
