Date of Passing: Mar 19, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD (TED) ROSS ALLDEN Ted passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on March 19, 2008. He will be dearly missed by his children; Susan (Gerry) Rocan, Doug (Michele), and Steve (Linda), as well as his cherished grandchildren; Crystale and Eric Rocan, Addison, Sara, Samantha and Hailey Allden. He was predeceased by beloved wife Donna, his parents, Art and Vivian, and brother, Jackie. He is survived by brother Richard and his children and their families, who will all miss their Uncle Ted. Ted was born December 24, 1927 and raised at the family home on Montrose Street until his marriage to Donna. He graduated from Kelvin High School and went on to study Commerce at the University of Manitoba, completing his studies in 1949. After receiving his diploma, he went to work for Great West Life, retiring at age 65 after 43 years of service. Those who knew him would describe him as a kind, generous man who spent his retirement serving his community by volunteering with the CFCA, canvassing for the Cancer and Diabetes Associations, and delivering Meals on Wheels. He was also an active member of Westworth United Church and had a wide circle of friends and family with whom he kept in touch through the marvelous new technology known as email. He has been cremated and a private interment will follow as well as a memorial service, which will occur in a few weeks, once the family has recovered from the shock of his sudden passing and completed the arrangements. Our thanks to the ICU staff at Victoria Hospital for their gentle, sympathetic care of Ted and his family during his brief stay. Ted will always remain in our hearts and memories.
