MABEL LOUISE ROUND June 20, 1918 - March 14, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Nan after a courageous battle with leukemia. May was predeceased by her husband Veltus (Bud), in 1988. Born in Birmingham England, May immigrated to Canada in 1949 and lived in Winnipeg until 15 years ago, when she moved to the White Rock area. May quickly made friends and was active in the White Rock Widows Support Group where she held the position of President/Coordinator for approximately six years. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Balanduk (Gordon) of Winnipeg; Diane Van Raes (Ray) and Margaret Gander of South Surrey; and her son Doug Round (Sue) of Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: David (Beth), Phillip, and Barry (Marcella) Balanduk; Susan, Brian, and Linda Van Raes; Lyon, Veronica, and Drew (Marla) Milne; and her ten loving great-grandchildren. She was so present in all of our lives and will be greatly missed. We very much appreciate the care and compassion given to our Nan by Dr. Bryan Prentice, his staff, and the staff on the Palliative Care Unit of Peace Arch Hospital. A Winnipeg service is being arranged with date to follow.
