BETTY HECHTER DOBBS Funeral services were held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel in Toronto, Ontario for the late Betty Hechter Dobbs, formerly of Winnipeg. She is survived by her devoted husband Bill, her children, Michelle, Fred and Karin, Michael and Lisa, Gail and Barry and Jeff. Her passing is mourned by her grandchildren who loved her without reservation. The loss of a special sister is felt by her siblings, Eva (Reuben) Cristall, Sid (Grace) Hechter and Ted (Gail) Hechter. Betty was a person who gave fully of herself to her family, friends and community throughout her life. She spread love and joy wherever she went. Betty survived several bouts of cancer over a period of 35 years and was hopeful that she would win this last round as well. It was not to be. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Rose Hechter, sister Ethel Hechter Shieff and brother Joe Hechter. An amazingly giving and strong woman has left the world diminished by her passing.
