Grace is survived by her son Alan of Winnipeg, daughter Fern and son-in-law Robert Meintzer of Tuscaloosa Alabama, grandchildren Robert and Caroline, also of Tuscaloosa, son David of Winnipeg, sister Evelyn of New Germany, Nova Scotia; as well as a great many nieces and nephews. She moved to Halifax during the war years and met Gordon, then serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, in 1944. They were married on August 16, 1945, and moved to Transcona shortly thereafter. They raised their family in the Riverview neighbourhood of Winnipeg before retiring to Brandtwood Estates in St. Vital, where Grace leaves behind many dear friends. Grace battled with cancer in the last five years of her life and we offer our thanks to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital and the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for all of the care and comfort that they provided her. In keeping with Grace's wishes, she will be cremated and no formal service will be held. A private interment will be held at a later date.
