Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES EDWARD FELL He was the companion to the late Lillian Todd, extended family to Jessica and George, Grandpa to Meaghan, and a friend to others. He is also survived by several relatives in Ontario. Charlie passed away peacefully on March 20, 2008 in the company of his family. He was predeceased by his mother, Sarah Smith, born in Cornwall, Ontario and his father, Frederick Fell, born in Hamilton, Ontario. He was a decorated veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas as a Sergeant with the 48th Highlanders of Canada. Charlie spent many years working in remote areas and some of Charlie's fondest memories were of the times he spent cooking in those areas. He spent his spare time volunteering with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club and did not hesitate to help others in any way he could. During his retirement he created many beautiful gardens and would often spend many hours tending them as he was most at home in the outdoors. Charlie was also interested in bird watching and provided may little birds with homes and food in the winter. Excerpts from In Memory of You I remember who you used to be the laughter we shared and wonder what you have become. Where are you now, where did you go, when the body is left behind and the spirit is released to fly? Perhaps you are the morning bird singing joyfully at sunrise, or the butterfly that dances so carelessly on the breeze or the rainbow of colors that brightens a stormy sky or the fingers of afternoon mist delicately reaching over the mountains or the final few rays of the setting sun lighting up the skies edging the clouds with a magical glow. I miss your being but I feel your presence, in whatever form you choose to take, however you now choose to be. Your spirit has become for me a guardian angel on high guiding, advising, and watching over me. I remember you. You are with me and I am not afraid. (Dr. Kirsti A. Dyer, MD, MS) Charlie's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest with his companion, Lillian, following a graveside service. Anyone wishing to attend the service may meet at the gates of Brookside Cemetery at 1:50 p.m., April 8, 2008. We would like to thank our friends for all their support during this trying time. The family respectfully requests no flowers please, donations in Charlie's memory may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, MB, Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB. R3C 2B7. Full moon overhead In the waning days of March. Yes, dying in spring Beneath a blossoming tree That would be the choice I'd make. (Saigyo) NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
