CLAUDIA LEWKO (nee HRYNEWYCH) Claudia Lewko, our beloved aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly at Holy Family Home on Easter Monday, March 24, 2008 to be with her loving Lord, Jesus Christ. Claudia was born in Perewoloka, Western Ukraine. After completing her education with the Basilican Sisters, she taught elementary school in Ukraine. Later she taught Ukrainian language classes in Germany and Winnipeg. Claudia immigrated to Winnipeg on November 1, 1948 where she met and married her beloved husband Toni. Claudia is survived by her nephews, nieces, numerous great and grand-nephews and nieces in the United States. In Winnipeg she leaves many close friends and godchildren. Claudia was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas (Toni); parents, Anthon and Josepha; brothers, Slawko and Myron. Claudia was a very friendly and loving lady. Although she had no children of her own, she had a tremendous love for the children of her close friends and relatives, and was always thrilled with new arrivals. She loved life and learning. At the age of 80 plus, she bought herself a piano and took music lessons. She enjoyed living in her own home until two and a half years ago when she became a resident of Holy Family Home. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family for the excellent care and love shown to Claudia during her stay with them. Prayers were sung 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 28 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29 (today) at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. with Fr.
