Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGATHA KRAHN (nee REDEKOP) Mom passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 29, 2008 at Holy Family Nursing Home at age 97 years. She was born October 7, 1910 in Dobrovka, Orenburg, Russia and in 1926 immigrated to Canada with her family. She worked for a time as a caregiver / cleaning girl until she met Frank and married him July 11, 1931. They lived and farmed in Foxwarren for a time during which two daughters Frieda and Eva were born. In 1936 they moved to Winnipeg where Jake, Henry and Irene were born. Mom was an active member of her church and volunteered many hours over the years, from rolling bandages, knitting socks, to making perogies and noodles with the Ladies Verein. She had a deep faith in Jesus and passed that on to all of her family. It was her family who was most important to her during her life. She shared our joys, sorrows, successes and failures and kept us all in her daily prayers. She thanked God for looking after her and her family and as a family we also thank God for her safe delivery to her eternal home. She was a warm, caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend, always thinking of others before herself. She looked forward to the customary Saturday Faspa and always welcomed visitors with her warm hospitality including her home baking and fresh coffee. You never left there hungry. She leaves her children Frieda (Mel) Ost, Eve (Fred) Acheson, Jake (Gail), Henry (Roseanne), Irene (Roger) Friesen; and their families; two sisters Mary Scheibner, Helen Spooner; two sisters-in-law Helen Krahn and Katie Krahn; many nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends in Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1988 and many other family members and friends. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of the St. John's ward at Holy Family Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, F2W 1T9, or to Alzheimer Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3C 4G2. 2146 Main Street 339-5555
