ELSIE CROWTHER It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Crowther, aged 86 years, on March 31, 2008 at Grace Hospital. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1998 and more recently by her sister Jean (2006) and brother Colin (2007). Left to mourn are her son Simon (Nora) and her granddaughters Sarah and Rachel. Also mourning in England are brother Gilbert, brother-in-law Terence, special cousin John Porter (Elspeth) and many nieces and nephews. Elsie has so many friends who offered support during her recent illness. While there truly are too many to mention, the family expresses special appreciation to Elsie's best friend Rosina Read. A tower of strength for Elsie, and wonderful support for Simon, Rose was always there. May God bless you, Rose. Thanks to Jim Draper for his ministry of care and compassion, and his way of just talking as Elsie entered her final days. A final note of thanks goes to all the staff at Grace Hospital, including Doctors Pat Harris and Trevor Lee. You both took such interest in Elsie's care, and yet softly supported her decision to simply move on. Funeral service to be held Friday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints' Church, 175 Colony Street (Broadway at Osborne). In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to one's charity of choice.
