HELEN UNGER Helen Unger died peacefully with family at her side on the evening of March 28, 2008. She was predeceased by her first husband Nikolai Zacharias, second husband Frank Unger, son Viktor and sisters Agnes Mensch and Elisabeth Trampe. She is survived by two sons, John (Helen) and Henry (Shirley) Zacharias, daughter-in-law Gladys (Bob) Hopwood, grandchildren Tammy (John) Mitchell, David (Jessica) Hopwood, Tannis (Ken) Sidloski, James (Kim) Zacharias, Robert (Shauna) Zacharias, Charissa (Mike) Godfrey, Leon (Jennifer) Zacharias, Heidi (Geoff) Brown, Theresa (Bill) Perdonic and 20 great-grandchildren, brothers Johann Sawatzky, Gerhard (Anne) Sawatzky, Kornelius (Agnes) Sawatzky, sister Lydia (Walter) Dyck and sister-in-law Elizabeth Redekopp. Helen was born in Nikolaifeld, Ukraine on March 5, 1921 to Johann and Margareta Sawatzky. She immigrated to Canada in 1948 as a single mother with three young children. The family would like to thank the staff at Donwood Manor for their care and concern. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, Winnipeg with interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
