Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE MADELINE STEWART Annie passed away peacefully March 30, 2008, at Golden Links Lodge. Annie was 83 years young and will be sadly missed by her children Wayne (and Cathy) Stewart of Bird River, Manitoba, Gaye Stewart of Vancouver, BC, and Joy Stewart of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Annie was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, George Stewart, her parents Julia and Walter Winn and her foster parents Maggie and Charlie Fincham. Annie was a wonderful mother, supporting her children in completing their education and she took great pride in their accomplishments. Her kind heart and unending love was extended to many foster children that shared her family over the years. Annie's eyes sparkled with her mischievous sense of humor, she had a wry wit and a smile for all. She lived life fully until her passing, most recently enjoying cards, bingo and shufflebowl activities at Golden Links. As a member of No. 1 Legion for many years, Annie enjoyed darts, bingo and the camaraderie of her friends there. She loved to visit the north country with her husband George where they did lots of boating and fishing. She occasionally out-fished both husband and son and even beat them at a few crib games! Annie will soon be rejoining George at the family cabin at Paint Lake near Thompson, Manitoba. The family would like to express their appreciation for the comfort and care provided by the staff at Golden Links Lodge to Annie over the last few years. Cremation has taken place and a service celebrating Annie's life will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapel (669 Broadway, Winnipeg) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008. If friends wish donations may be made in Annie's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 12013 Stn Brm B, Toronto, ON M7Y 2L3.
