KATHLEEN LOUISE MCKAUGHAN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy McKaughan of Petersfield at the age of 48 after a long and very courageous battle with cancer at St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, April 3, 2008. Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, sister Denise Campbell (Kevin Aime), her most treasured nephew and niece, Brennon and Samantha Campbell; aunts Fran (Ed) Sutherland, Alma (Richard) Dalman, Doris Carter; many cousins and friends. Kathy was predeceased by our grandparents George (1971) and Hazel (1990) McKaughan, George (1960) and Jane (1982) Carter, mother Joyce (1987) and most recently our father Ken in November 2007. Kathy was born in Selkirk on June 11, 1959. She attended school in Dunara, Petersfield, and then graduated a year early from Lord Selkirk Regional, with the program major award in Secretarial. She started to work right after graduation for Promo-Wear, then Mandak, Canada Safeway, and most recently for Stonewall Tire, where they were just like a second family to her and were always very supportive of her and her illness. She loved the outdoors and plants. Kathy could always manage to have a home full of potted plants always flourishing. She was famous for writing everything down on a little piece of paper and never throwing any of them away. Kathy enjoyed many crafts and hobbies and taking our aunt to bingo and garage sales. Those that were close to her knew that she didn't like to burden anyone else with her worries. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk with Judy Limeright officiating. She will be laid to rest beside our parents in the Dunara Churchyard Cemetery, Petersfield, Manitoba. Kathy we will miss you always, but now you are at peace with no more worries, you are walking with Mom and Dad again, and I know that you will be watching those that you have left behind. We will love you always. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
