BRENDA ANN HENRY Asinii-Kwe February 20, 1949 - April 3 2008 The family of Brenda Ann Henry sadly announce her passing into the spirit world on April 3, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her children, Jeffrey (Nora), Lynn, Marcy, and Mark (Nadine); siblings John (Rebecca), Iris (Steve), Bernice (Felix), Millie (Carl), Garnet (Georgina), Marie, Marlene, Robert (Lori), Monty (Emily); 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her lodge family too many to mention. Brenda was predeceased be her parents Clarence and Maryann, brothers Donald and Gerald, and Sister Irene Houston. Brenda's entire adult life was centered around her teaching career and her traditional way of life. Brenda was a respected bundle carrier, Sundancer, and lodge keeper. The family wishes to thank each and every one of you for all your prayers, support and love shown to our sister/mother during her illness; Morris Hospital nurses; attending Physicians for their care; Ginew Wellness Center; Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation Chief and Council; Gaming Centre; and the many friends and relatives. A special thank you to Alfred and Sonja. A celebration of life will begin with a traditional wake on Friday, April 4, 2008 at Ginew School in Roseau River First Nation at 12:00 p.m. Traditional service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Roseau Rapids Reserve following the service.
