ELSIE MITCHELL Peacefully in the early morning hours of April 5, 2008, surrounded by the love of her family, Elsie Mitchell left this world. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Jimmy Mitchell and her sister Margaret. Our beloved mother, grandmother will always be remembered by her children Evelyn (Ben), Jim (Lenore) and Cameron as well as her grandchildren Evan, Graham, Erica, Bailey and Chloe. She will also be missed by Maggie, Hannah, Stephanie and the adored family pets. Elsie was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 18, 1932 to Elsie and David McNeil. She always spoke with fondest memories of her colourful childhood, surrounded by a menagerie of pets and people. She married our father January 2, 1953, and a few years later, immigrated to Winnipeg to join the growing Scottish Clan. Her enduring spirit saw her through: wartime, childhood illness, multiple cancer battles and more recently a tragic motor vehicle accident. She remarkably persevered and found daily joy with time spent with family and friends. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Maples Personal Care Home and our personal support system of cherished friends. A special thank you to Lovey Prysizney. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her honor to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, R3T 0R3. We'll meet again, Don't know where, Don't know when, But I know We'll meet again Some sunny day. Keep smiling through Just like you Always do Till the blue skies Drive the dark clouds Far away.

I don't know if you still speak to aunty Helen or aunty Linda in Scotland as I have lost touch with them over the years after my gran passing. Hope you receive this email as I would love to hear from you and maybe get in touch with aunty Helen and aunty Linda as Well as I used to go up to Scotland with my gran all the time to visit them.
