IRENE ELIZABETH WALKER (nee VAN HAUTE) 1942 - 2008 Peacefully on Saturday, April 5, Irene passed away at Stonewall Hospital. By her side were daughters, Vicki Zyzniewski and Tina Blatch, her loving husband Roger Walker, her brother Ben Van Haute and sister Robin Van Haute-Cadotte. Irene is survived by her husband Roger; daughters Vicki; Tina (Tim); son Darren (Mary); and recently united with her son Greg (Debbie); grandchildren Tyler, Cole, Brittany, Jake, Chaz, Sam, Alex, and Sheena. Also survived by her siblings Leon (Phyllis), Ben (Irma), Barb, Frank (Camilla), Rick, and Robin (Kevin). She was predeceased by her parents Winona and Archie Van Haute. Irene was born September 13, 1942 in Winnipeg. She spent most of her life in Stony Mountain as a child, and raised her girls on a farm in Ontario. She returned to Stony Mountain in 1982 where she resided until her admittance to Stonewall Hospital in January. Shortly after her move back to Stony Mountain she met her soul mate, Roger. They dated for 13 years and married June 7, 1997. They were inseparable to the last moment. The family would like express their gratitude to the Stonewall Hospital staff for their excellent care, support and extreme kindness during her stay. Thank you. The funeral will be held Friday, April 11, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stonewall Hospital Palliative Care Room in her memory. We'll forever love and miss you, For all that life has given us and all that's left to do, We'll know no greater treasure than the days we had with you.
