DENIS FREDERICK NAGAM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denis Frederick Nagam on April 3, 2008 even as he continues life with his wife and partner of seven years, Kathy (nee McKaughan), who also passed away on April 3, 2008. Denis is also joining other family members who have passed away recently, his mother Elva, father Lewis, father-in-law Ken, big brother Gary, and sister-in-law Gloria. Left to mourn are his siblings, Sharon (Jim), Melvin (Monika), Larry, Bonnie, Greg (Marie), Jeff (Beverly), Rhonda (Miguel), Rod (Shana), and many nieces and nephews who meant the world to him. Denis loved children. His greatest joy was when his son Brian came into his life at the age of 21. He enjoyed many hours with Brian and his wife Melody, grandchildren Skylar, Samantha, Keely and James. Brian and Denis sang together like they had been together all their lives. Denis enriched many in his travels through life. (Mary, her children, Ross, Kristee, Marni, Cindy and granddaughters, Rylea, Parker, Anna and Mickenzie), (Stella, her children, Holly, Cory and Charlie and her grandchildren), (Jackie and son Norman). His greatest passion in life was music. Dad and Denis would spend countless hours playing; Dad on the fiddle shouting out the chords and Denis keeping up to him on the guitar. He was a very talented guitar player and singer songwriter. His songs made you laugh and made you cry. He wrote special songs for his mom and his dad. Whenever spending time with friends and family, they couldn't wait to hear him play and sing. Often the words matched the crowd of the moment, starting with the neighbour in the garden in Tyndall. Uncle D taught his nieces and nephews many an X-rated song that their parents pretended not to know the words to. Denis could party with the best of us, sometimes forgetting to come home till the money ran out. He visited Nashville in 1993 and sang on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry and taped an Eagles tune in one of the studios. Karaoke was a passion of his and he could harmonize with the worst singers and make them sound good. Denis enjoyed the race track in Gimli, cheering on his baby brother Rod and his big brother Gary to victory. He also enjoyed working on his Cuda. One of the accomplishments he was most proud of was attaining his high school diploma at age 45 after challenging his stepson Ross to complete his Grade 12. When we hear your songs, we will remember you with tears in our eyes and a smile in our hearts. We will miss you. One Day at a Time by Denis Nagam Hey you, sitting in the corner with tears running down your face, I can tell your heart has just been broken and the pain has finally taken place. Please don't cry for there will be another and the pain will slowly slip away, Come and sit beside me if you want to, for my heart has been broken the same way. Just take it one day at a time ...... A celebration of Denis' life will be held at the Garson Community Centennial Centre, 11 Thompson Ave., Garson, MB on Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the evening commencing at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.

  • I miss you, my brother! There are so many days that I miss you so much that my heart hurts. I will never forget the last time that I heard you sing. You were singing " The House of The Rising Sun " and it gave me goosebumps and I felt sad when I looked at you. I could see so much pain in your face! I love you,Den! Now I try very hard to think of only the positive and funny things that we all shared in our lives with you .....like the time that you came to visit me and my girls in Armstrong, BC . Steph and Lissa were having "show and tell " at school and they took you and your guitar. You had your Shit Happens hat on .. and the teacher said that you could wear it as long as you covered up the letters ...haha Love you xo - Posted by: Bon Nagam (sister ) on: May 31, 2014
