KATHLEEN MARGUERITA SKERRITT (nee MORELLO) It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of Kay on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 81 years. Kay is survived by her beloved husband Douglas, of 59 years; son Donald (Jo-Anne); daughter Bonny Hill (Bruce); grandchildren, Jennifer Skerritt and Chelsea Michaels; great-grandchildren, Cole Hunt and Jayde Harkness, as well as her sisters, Alice Galway of St. Catharine's, Ontario, Betty Visca (Lorne), brother-in-law Robert Skerritt, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Kay was predeceased by her parents, brother John Morello and sister Lillian Gray. Born July 13, 1926 in Langruth, MB, Kay moved to Camper, MB, and then to Winnipeg in 1946. During her working years she was employed by New Method Laundry, the Birchwood Inn and Sunshine Laundry. Kay volunteered at the Grace Hospital Muffin Stop for 15 years, Meals on Wheels, St. Andrew's Anglican Church and Oak View Place Nursing Home. Mom loved camping, walking, bike riding, sewing and traveling. Kay loved taking care of others and always said she didn't have time to be sick. On Thursday, April 10 Kay's memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Ian Mills presider. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0K6 or to St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0R1.
