Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE AGATHE GAGNE (nee DUBOIS) February 8, 1921 April 5, 2008 Peacefully, with family by her side, Marie Agathe Gagné, of Portage la Prairie, MB, passed away at the Portage District General Hospital on Saturday, April 5, 2008 after a short courageous battle with cancer. Marie was born in 1921 in Haywood Manitoba, daughter of the late Marshall and Ellen Dubois. She attended school in Haywood. In 1941, she married Ernest Gagné. The newly married couple settled down in Haywood, Manitoba, to start their family. In 1950, they moved to Portage la Prairie and there they raised their children. Marie worked at Campbell Soup and later worked in the laundry at the Portage District General Hospital. Marie enjoyed knitting, gardening, canning, camping, travelling and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Ernest, her parents Marshall and Ellen, her two sisters Clemence and Cecile, and her daughter-in-law Maureen Gagné, Marie leaves to mourn two sons Albert (Darlene) of Winnipeg and Eugene (Anita) of Oakville; four daughters Jeanne (Bill) Burke of Portage, Irene (Andy) Landry of High Bluff, Dianna Dubois (George) of Edmonton Alberta and Lucille of B.C. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie also leaves to mourn her three brothers Albert, Clarence and Robert and her three sisters Adelle, Lena and Irene. Prayers will be said from McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Bill Parrack officiating and the rosary led by Jane Hebert. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 1125 Saskatchewan Ave E., Portage la Prairie on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Celebrant Father Michael Wollbaum presiding. Interment is to follow in the family plot at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire contributions in remembrance may be made to the Good Shepherd Parish Building Fund, 114 Countess Ave., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 0T2 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
