MINNIE DMYTERKO (nee PLISHKA) 1920 2008 Peacefully at her residence, Saturday, April 5, 2008, Minnie passed away. She is survived by her children, Walter (Diane), Steve (Oksana), Morris (Cathy), Elizabeth (Don) Trevors, Sylvia Nilsson, Victor (Marva), Gordon (Penny), and David (Peggy); brother-in-law Joseph; aunt Alberta Muzyka; numerous cousins; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three nephews, Robert (Adeline) Babiak, Paul (Karen) Babiak and Larry Plishka. She was predeceased by her husband Michael; brothers, Tom and Walter; sister Anne Babiak, and one grandson Louie Dmyterko. Mama was born in Oshawa, Ontario and moved to Fisher Branch at a very early age. She married Michael in 1940 and they farmed on their homestead, six miles west of Fisher Branch. There they raised their family of eight, two daughters and six sons. After Dad's death Mama continued to live, independently, on the family farm. Some of the things she loved to do were cooking, knitting, gardening, visiting with family, picking berries and mushrooms, and looking forward to the return of the hummingbirds. Service will be held at Fisher Funeral Home in Fisher Branch, MB on Thursday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m., Pastor James Thiessen will be officiating. Interment will follow at later date.
