DENNIS DONALD DADEY (1958-2008) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Dadey of Calgary, Alberta on April 3, 2008, after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer. Dennis was born in the town of Dauphin, Manitoba to Harry and Anne Dadey. He is predeceased by his mother Anne, and is survived by his wife and best friend Patricia of Calgary, Alberta, his father Harry of Dauphin, Manitoba, his sister Shirley of Winnipeg, Manitoba and brother Bob of Calgary, Alberta, and many extended family and friends. Through the Berkley College of Music Program, Dennis' passion for music, as a self-taught, young musician of 18, began on the acoustic guitar and then to electric guitar. His entrepreneurial spirit moved him to teach guitar music lessons to junior high school kids in his home town, which proved to be a great success between the kids and their parents! From there Dennis organized and formed his own rock band and played at high school events and parties. Teaming up with talented and inspiring musicians such as Rick Elkier (Guitars), Tim Hannibal (Guitars), Craig Meyer (Guitars), Sam Winters (Drums), Paul Scinocca (Drums) and Ted Chartrand (Drums), to name just a few, and made for some great music jams. As a guitarist and songwriter, with his playing from the heart style , Dennis' electric guitar influences ranged from Van Halen, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Lynard Skynard, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Cult, Ozzy Ozbourne to Colin James, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Nickleback. On the acoustic guitar, Dennis also enjoyed playing many classical, Olde English, Celtic, Flamenco tunes influenced by John Renbourn, Ritchie Blackmore, Lionna Boyd, Al Di Meola, and others. His love of nature and wildlife grew during a short time when he worked in the forests of north central Manitoba; he often encountered bears, moose and many other wildlife. After leaving Dauphin, Dennis worked for The City of Calgary Transit, then took on a sales / marketing manager role in an electronics firm. Being a natural with his strong business and sales skills, he then decided to launch his own successful e-commerce and graphics design company at the beginning of the Internet era. Dennis and his wife spent many hours enjoying music, photography, and love of nature and wildlife. He will be missed very much by those whose lives he touched.
