Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN KAROL CHUDZIK Peacefully, on April 7, 2008, at the age of 84, John Karol Chudzik passed away at Park Manor Personal Care Home. John was predeceased by his wife Eileen (nee Shaw), his son Father Bob Chudzik, S.J., brothers, Walter, August (Gusty), William, Frank, and is survived by his brother Brownie, and sister Mary Andree. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Helen Costello of Sugarland, Texas, and Wanda Naimi of Montreal, Quebec, his grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Jason, Jennifer, and Rachel, and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Justin, Luca, and Colton, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born on October 24, 1923 to immigrant parents Zofia (nee Neitrzeba) and Filip Chudzik. While growing up, he attended Lord Nelson and Isaac Newton Schools. He served in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War as a sailor on a Corvette Convoy escort ship. After returning from the war, he worked for Canadian National Railways as a carpenter, and retired on August 31, 1984. After his retirement, John and Eileen enjoyed traveling extensively. John was active in the Canadian Polish Athletic Club. He enjoyed golfing, and was especially proud of his hole-in-one at the Windsor Golf Course, on September 25, 1985. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with interment in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens followed by a reception. Our family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
