EDITH HATTIE MACMILLAN (nee MATTHEWS) April 19, 1935 - April 6, 2008 Peacefully in the morning of April 6, 2008 Edith MacMillan left this world at her home in Marquette, Manitoba. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron MacMillan; her sons, Lyle (Linda) and Glen (Michelle); her grandchildren, Mathew, Adam (Deb), Julie, Bradley, Blair and Bryce, as well as one sister Ida and brother Earl. Edith was predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Hattie and brothers, Asa, Carl, Dale and Neil. Edith was born on April 19, 1935 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent the majority of her life in Marquette. Edith was married to Ron on January 17, 1953. In her younger years, she was a member of the Meadow Lea Girls Fastball team, played on a girl's hockey team and curled in the community. Edith was an avid curling fan all her life. She was a member of the Meadow Lea United Church and played a large part in organizing and planning events. Edith was a very hard worker and spent her 55 years of married life on the farm. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the community for their support and kindness and to the Home Care workers who cared for her in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in her honour to the Meadow Lea United Church. A celebration of Edith's life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Meadow Lea Hall.
