CALVIN (CAL) ZACHARIAS Cal Zacharias aged 61 years of Winnipeg, Manitoba, formerly of Ottawa, Ontario and Halbstadt, Manitoba, passed away at the Calvary Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, on April 6, 2008. Cal worked for Agriculture Canada in Food Inspection Agency and Health Canada in Ottawa for many years. Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Grace (Alvin) Klippenstein; Connie (John) Kroeker; two brothers, Al (Dora) Zacharias; Harv (Amy) Zacharias and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William P. and Mary Zacharias; and one sister Norma Sawatzky. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bergthaler Mennonite Church in Altona, MB. with interment to follow at a later date in the Halbstadt Cemetery. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Friday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. In memory of Calvin (Cal) Zacharias donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba and or to Mennonite Central Committee.
