Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA (ANN) BROCHU (nee BYRA) It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Anna Brochu on March 29, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Anna was born September 14, 1919 in Bifrost Municipality of Manitoba. She lived most of her life in Northern Ontario, settling in North Bay where she owned and operated a successful business, Ann's Hairdressing for many years. Anna loved to travel and meet new people, developing many lifelong friendships. Her love for the desert took her to Yuma, Arizona where she spent her winters. Anna was predeceased by her husband Wilfred; parents Anna and Paul Byra; stepchildren, Orville, Vivian, Arnold, Giselle, Rayette and her siblings, Mike, Diane, Jessie, John, Jean, and Olive. She is survived by her sister Kay (Mike) Shrupka; her stepchildren, Linda Pollen, Earl Brochu, Glenn Brochu; numerous grandchildren, special grandsons, Kelly (Colleen) O'Gorman, Danny (Judy) Brochu; many nieces and nephews including special nieces, Colleen (Leo) Belanger, Judy Cannon and Marilyn (Ron) Shott. Also left to cherish her memory are her many friends throughout Canada and the U.S. especially Red and Phyllis Heiman and Doris and Al Merrifield. Special thanks to her homecare team Donna, Christina and Jennifer, her nurse Harriet and the staff of St. Boniface Palliative Care. A memorial service celebrating Anna's life will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker, 505 Brewster St. A funeral service and burial was held in North Bay, Ontario.
