ERWIN (ERV) LOBSON

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERWIN (ERV) LOBSON After a fifteen year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Erv passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his best friend and wife Elaine (Charman) of 51 years. He leaves behind his daughter Janice and husband Gordon Hudson, son Robert of Burnaby, B.C., and dearest twin grandchildren Melissa and Garrett Hudson. Also surviving are brothers George (Doreen), Norman (Marilyn), Arthur, sister-in-law Lorna Lobson, brothers in-law and sisters-in-law George and Bernice Eakin, Brian and Janice Charman and Garry Charman, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Beatrice Lobson, twin brother Alvin who also fought Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and sister-in-law Joyce Lobson. Erv worked in the tire industry for 39 years in territory and store management; 27 years with B.F. Goodrich and 12 years with York Tire, retiring in 1990. Erv and his family enjoyed 42 years of their Brereton Lake cottage spending hours fishing, canoeing and playing dominos in the evening. In the early years curling with the Hoof and Horn group and the club league at the St. Vital Curling Club were favourites of Erv's. Erv enjoyed playing the piano and volunteering at various senior homes. He recently completed a term as board member at Kirchoff Gardens Senior Home. A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street at Southglen on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Erv's memory may be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation-Oncology, Victoria General Hospital Foundation Inc., 2340 Pembina Hwy., R3T 2H4 or Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1311 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, R2N 1V6. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. I. Maxwell for 15 years of excellent care and all the staff at the Riverview Heath Centre 3E, for providing Erv with their special care and compassion during his last few weeks.
