Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD ALBERT DORION Don was born Monday, March 26, 1945 at The Pas, Manitoba, where he lived most of his life. As a younger man, he worked as a miner and later drove taxi. In 1975, Dad started his employment with Tolko until he retired in 2007. On December 23, 1966, he married his beloved wife, Darlene. Together they built a strong family foundation, welcoming many children in to their home. Dad loved his children with a passion and devoted his life to providing for them, unselfishly opening his heart and home to others. Dad enjoyed hunting. He also had a passion for sports, mainly hockey and baseball. Don passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 at The Pas, age 63 years. Don is survived by his wife, Darlene; father-in-law, Leonard Chastellaine; children, Rhonda (Gary) Ross, Lucille, David (Patti), Dean (DeeDee), Nancy and Dwayne; special foster daughter, Candace Wilson; numerous grand-children and other extended family members. Don was predeceased by his parents, Pat and Liza Dorion; brother, Norman Dorion; son, Brian Dorion; fathers-in-law, Severe Villeneuve, Archie Leach; mother-in-law, Toni Leach. A Wake Service was held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 and Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Margaret Henderson Parish Hall, Church of Redeemer, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Manitoba. The Funeral Service was held Friday, April 4, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas with James Hemauer presiding. Assistant: Rev. Jim Sayese. Music Ministry was led by Mike Jebb Jr. Memories of the Heart: son, David. Pallbearers were Dustin Dorion, Dennis Dorion, David Dorion, Dean Dorion, Tyler Dorion, Trevor Dorion, Dwayne Dorion, Travis Stevens, Gary Ross, Joe Pat McKellep, Raymond Pudoo Mayer. Following the interment prayers at Lakeside Cemetery, a reception and time of fellowship was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, in care of arrangements.
