GRANT COLES 1948 - 2008 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Grant Coles on Thursday, April 10, 2008. Remaining to forever cherish Grant's memory are his wife, Alice; and her daughter Lisa (Ken) Carr of Winnipeg; son, Wayne (Kim) Smith of Langley, BC and two grandsons Kyle and Brandon. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Coles of Lindsay, ON; sisters, Linda Coles of Lindsay, ON, Sandy (Pete) Smith of Cambridge, ON, Dayle (Bob) Waring of Hensall, ON, Kim (Ron) Falsetti of Oakville, ON; brother, Terry (Kim) of Calgary, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and two brothers. Born August 11, 1948 in Guelph, ON, Grant moved to Winnipeg in 1977 and worked for the Federal Government until his retirement in 2004. Grant's passion was golf and he spent many enjoyable years at Assiniboine Golf Course with his golfing buddies. Throughout the years he also served on the golf course Board of Directors where he found the work rewarding and the committee members enjoyable. In compliance with Grant's wishes no formal funeral service will be held and a celebration of Grant's life will be held at a later date at the Assiniboine Golf Course. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Czaykowski, Denise and Pat and all the nurses and the staff on the 3rd floor chemo room for all your care and compassion. You are all angels and each and every one of you made Grant's journey so much easier. A big thank you also to the Palliative Care nurses and Home Care workers who provided support and compassion to us at this difficult time. Flowers are gratefully declined but if you desire we would appreciate a donation in Grant's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9.
