She was released from the pain and suffering that her body had endured for the last few years. We know that she is now rejoicing with her Saviour. Phyllis is survived by her son Joseph Zelisko (Christina), grandchildren Jordan, Kennedi and Cole; sister Judy Deneka; brother Walter Bonkowski (Donalda); nieces and nephews and the Dueck family. She was predeceased by her parents, son Robert Zelisko, husband Ben Dueck, brother in law Walter Deneka. Phyllis was born on March 17, 1935 to Tony and Anne Bonkowski in Ledwyn, MB. Her childhood was spent on the farm until she moved to Winnipeg as a young adult. She moved back to Riverton where she worked as a teller at the CIBC. She also raised her two adopted sons with her first husband John Zelisko. She enjoyed crocheting and bingo in her spare time. She married Ben Dueck in 1987 and they lived in Balaton Beach for only a short time and then Ben was called Home to Heaven. Mom continued to live there until 2004, when her health made her move to the Icelandic River Lodge in Riverton where she resided until Monday, April 7 when she went to the Arborg Hospital. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis will be remembered as a kind and gracious lady with a thoughtful, generous and loving spirit. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Arborg Hospital for their excellent care. A big thank you to her Home Care and everyone that helped Mom. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverton Hnausa Lutheran Church.
