Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN JAMES GRIER December 1, 1925 April 13, 2008 Norman passed away peacefully in his home on April 13, 2008. Norman was born in Greenridge, Manitoba on December 1, 1925. Norman is survived by his loving wife Edith Grier and their four children Leonard (Kimberley and grandson Jackson), Glen (wife Michelle and grandson Scott), Cindy (husband Murray, grandchildren Richard, Kelly and Robyn-Lynn, mother to great-grandson Coda), and Shenda (grandsons Liam and David). Norman is also survived by his siblings Lenora, Murray, Vera, Alvin, Lillian, Neale, Allan, Brian and Joyce. He was predeceased by his parents Lena and James Grier and siblings Andy, Earl and Ethel. Norman loved nature, the weather, the first crocuses of spring, hunting, fishing, gardening and a good sense of humor. Norman was a long haul truck driver and then moved up to the Northwest Territories to work on the DEW line when he met Edith. After leaving the north, they settled for a short time in Winnipeg before moving out to Ridgeville, Manitoba as the sole proprietor of the Ridgeville Service Garage. He was active in the community and loved living his dream of flying in his Cessna. When he retired from the garage, Norman and Edith moved up north to Garden Hill for a few years before settling again in Paradise Village near Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Always busy , Norman worked at the golf course and running parts until a few years ago when he dedicated all his time to tending his garden and flowers. A service celebrating Normans life will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1 Green Acres Lane (R.M. of Springfield) Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
