Gordon was born on November 12, 1906, the youngest of 11 children, to Robert and Jane (Leeson) Pirie. He lived all but his last three years of his life in Strathclair where he was born. He farmed until the age of 65 years. He was active in the community at curling, lawn bowling, the community centre and the fair. Gordon and Myrtle traveled to many places which included: British Columbia, Norway, Jamaica, many senior bus tours to the U.S., and as well summer camps at Wannacumbac. He was thankful for the clear Bible Teaching and message of salvation as he listened to and watched Pastor Barber on Faith to Live By every Sunday on T.V. He will be greatly missed by his family and though he was a man of few words, we remember the good times and his great generosity. Gordon is survived by his wife Myrtle, of 65 years; son Eugene and daughter Irene (Sid) Emberly; grandchildren: Sherry (Mel Reimer), Lance, Krista (Travis Friesen); six great-grandchildren: Charity, Mel and Stephanie Reimer and Abby, Jill and Molly Friesen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
