Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORNELIA (CORA) BRAUN (nee VANDERSTEEN) It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Cora Braun on April 13, 2008 at The Misericordia Place at the age of 97 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Irene Renaud (Maurice) of Winnipeg, Diane Snavely (Michael) of Bonita Springs, Florida, grandsons, Kerry Renaud (Joanne) of Winnipeg, Randall Renaud of Montreal, Ritchie Renaud (Jennifer) of Vancouver; granddaughters Bonnie Koenig of Wisconsin, Lorraine Twilling (David) of North Carolina and Susan Chollett (Justin) of Florida, great-grandchildren Matthew, Taylor, Ashley, Michelle, Sarah and Eric and Cora's sisters and brother, Ann Smith (Cliff), Alice Kosie, Tim Vandersteen (Therese), Herb Vandersteen (Rose). She was predeceased by her husband Charles Braun. Cora was born in Utrecht Holland on February 21, 1911, relocating to Manitoba at the age of six months. The family was scheduled to sail on the Titanic but Cora's birth luckily delayed their departure and they sailed on another vessel. Cora travelled extensively, visiting Florida, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela and Japan to enjoy and visit her global family. A trip through Europe with her two daughters will always be a special memory. Nana was a devoted grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always supported them in their activities. She was a wise link to the past and continues to be a constant source of inspiration to them. In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held. Special thanks to the staff at the Rosewood Village and especially to the staff at the Misericordia Place for their support and caring in the last years of Nana's wonderful life. Wojciks Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. 897-4665.
