Born: Aug 31, 1942
Date of Passing: Apr 09, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY (HARRY) JAMES GREEN SCOTT August 31, 1942 - April 9, 2008 It is with profound sadness that we say good bye to Henry, forever loved as our Opa, husband, father, brother and friend. Left behind with cherished memories are his love and wife Patty and her three daughters, Val, Kristin and Caroline; daughters, Cathy (Erik), Nathalie (Barry) and his grandchildren, Jessica, Dillon, Sebastian, Caleb, Ella and Everett. Henry also leaves behind four siblings and their families, Navada, Louis (Ralph), Flo, and Fred. He is reunited with his mother (Florence), father (Frederick) and brother Winston in Heaven. Born in Griswold, MB, Henry was the youngest of six children. Most of his childhood was spent growing on Vancouver Island, BC. He joined the Canadian Air Force at age 17, following the untimely death of his parents. He achieved the rank of Master Corporal and worked for 30 years as a skilled Safety Systems Technician. He eventually returned home after living many years in Germany and France and retired in the Comox Valley. Henry battled with depression most of his life but always managed to enjoy good times and create even better memories. He was well known for an enthusiastic and loving hug, strong and comforting hands to hold, and his giggling laugh. He was a wonderful listener, always a gentleman and he genuinely cared for everyone he knew. A truly special attribute was Henry's love for children and all animals. He often said he should have been a zoo keeper so he could be close to both. Henry was a self-taught perfectionist tradesman. Not only could he rebuild an engine or renovate a house, but he could also sew a gown or create stained glass artwork. He used these talents for the benefit of all who needed him. We will miss Henry, Opa , terribly but know that his spirit lives on and is with us in the many lessons and memories we were able to share. A service of remembrance in celebration of his life was held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, BC, with Pastors Ron Freeman and Peter Neudorf officiating. I'm going home to Jesus; My life will soon begin; Earth's ties will then be severed As Heaven I enter in. - Anonymous
