Survived by his wife Vade of 55 years. Two daughters, Barbara Beauchemin, Reena Lillies (Garry Fenske); three grandchildren, Jade, Lee and Davis. Born and raised in Stonewall, Dad worked at Stony Mountain Penitentiary for a number of years. He left the penitentiary and bought the Stonewall Bakery. They made the best burgers in town. He sold the bakery in 1980 and retired. Dad and Mom went on trips to Mexico, the Western States of Utah, New Mexico and Nevada. Their favourite trip was to Eastern Canada. Dad loved Halifax and being near the ocean. He enjoyed motorcycles, golfing and tinkering around in his garage. If Dad didn't have something, he would build it. Al had a gym membership and rarely missed a day of working out. He also had a love of music. He could pick up any instrument and play by ear. Dad enjoyed life to the fullest and was never at a loss for words. Always the life of the party with his quick wit. We will miss you. Interment will take place in Stonewall Cemetery. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
