Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE STEELE Peacefully on April 15, 2008 at Oakview Place, his home away from home, Larry passed away at the age of 81. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Amy, his daughter Heather (Dave), son Doug (Judy) (Brooke, Matt, Ella, Trenton, Robin) and many nieces and nephews. Larry served in the Merchant Navy from 1942 to 1945. He was in the Air Force from 1951 to 1961 and was stationed in Greenwood Nova Scotia, Gander Newfoundland and Cold Lake Alberta. He came back to Winnipeg in 1961 and then in 1964 headed up North to work on the Dew-Line. Dad became a Shriner on October 26, 1979 and joined the Flag Patrol in 1980 where he remained until his health failed. Once retired he loved collecting coins, working on his stamp collection and loved taking pictures. He was predeceased by his father Charles and his mother Chris Steele. Sincere thanks to everyone at Extendicare/ Oakview Place for your kindness, compassion and great care and attention given to Larry over the past three and a half years. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Army Navy and Air Force Command Unit 283, 3584 Portage Avenue.
