MARIA LUISA FERREIRA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at the age of 86 years. She peacefully passed away on April 17, 2008 at the Maples Personal Care Home, surrounded by her family. Maria was born April 1, 1922 in Faja de Cima, Sao Miguel Acores and immigrated to Canada in 1975 to be with her children and grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by her parents, husband Heitor, daughter Almorinda and son-in-law Manuel. Maria will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her daughter Leanor, her son Humberto (Dina), son-in-law Fransico and goddaughter Luisa. She also leaves her grandchildren, Tony (Nellie), Susy (Dennis), Rui (Kim), Gary (Cristina), Sandy (Paulo) and Dianne (Carlos), great-grandchildren, Corey, Brittany, Chelsea, Courtney, Brenden, Aleksia, Justin, Evan, Cynthia and Caleb as well as numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews. Maria was a very loving, compassionate and patient person who would put the need of others before her own. She cherished every moment she had on God's green Earth with family and friends. There is no amount of words that can describe our Vavo and mother Luisa. The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their excellent care and compassion over the years. Thank you as well to the numerous friends who took the time to visit Maria and spend time with her. It didn't matter the length of time, she appreciated it very much. May God bless you all. Viewing/visitation will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., Sunday, April 20 between 7:00 - 8:00 p.m, words said by the Pastor Manuel Bessa at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service celebrating Maria's life will be held at the same location, Monday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. You left us with beautiful memories Sprayed with a million tears. Wishing you had been spared but a few more years Thanks for the years you gave us. And for the happy times we shared. We only pray that when you left us, You knew how we loved you and cared. You will live on Always and forever in our hearts. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Peace.
