Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANIS ESTHER RUTH WOLFE (nee HAMM) Born - June 14, 1946 Died - April 11, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of Janis Wolfe announces her passing at the age of 61. Janis was predeceased by her parents, Jake and Elma Hamm and a brother-in-law, Pete Hiebert. She is survived by her two children, Kevin (Rhoda) and Kelly (Peter) Thomas and one very much loved grandson, Wyatt Samual Thomas. She is also survived by her six siblings, Randall (Susan) Hamm, Judith Hiebert, Wallace (Darlene) Hamm, Barbara Hamm, Karen (Francis) Sentenac and Greg (Colette) Hamm, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. By way of early history, Janis was the fourth child born to Jake and Elma Hamm of Altona, Manitoba. She attended a rural one-room school just outside of Altona and later moved to Winnipeg to set out on her own. She worked at Eaton's and the Royal Bank and later stayed home to raise her two children in the River Heights area of Winnipeg. She made many friends throughout her years in Altona and Winnipeg, some of which she is still in contact with to this day. Janis, who was so often lovingly referred to by her grandson, Wyatt, as Grandma Beans , will be remembered as a loving and caring person. Her love of her family, both immediate and extended, will carry all of us through these next difficult days. She was a deep lover of all the nature that graces our earth and spent many hours hiking and walking in the parks and trails both far and near from her home. She was an avid golfer, loved to garden in her flower patch and enjoyed reading and crosswords. In recent years Janis had begun to re-embrace her worship of Jehovah and had become a member of the Charleswood Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. It was part of her belief that one day all creation, including the earth itself, would become a paradise garden once again. Cremation has already taken place. Funeral service to be held April 21, 2008 - 11:00 a.m. Light lunch and refreshments to follow. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE (AT BOND) 224-1525
