PEGGY (GIRMAN) KESSLER Peggy Kessler passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2008 at age 84. She was predeceased by her brothers Louis Girman and Fritz Girman, sisters Minnie Winocur and Ann Nezon, niece Ellie Slavin and nephew Glenn Girman. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Toby, with whom she shared her life for 58 years, her children Esther and Jeffrey Spiegel (Jeremy and Cory) and Louis and Cheryl Kessler (Brenna and Brittany), her brother Mitch Germain of Mississauga Ontario and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Peggy first worked at Quality Pant for eight years before she was married. She was a partner with her husband Toby in his real estate business for 36 years. During that time they made Perth Avenue their home. She also worked as a licensed insurance broker for 15 years. Peggy was one of the founders of the B'nay Abraham Sisterhood and was an active member for many years. She and her husband Toby enjoyed both the exercise and social benefits of the Reh-Fit Centre for over 30 years. Peggy was a woman who always saw life as a glass half full she always saw the good in everyone and was kind to everyone she met. She delighted in having her family around her, especially for Sunday or holiday suppers. Funeral services were held at Congregation Etz Chayim followed by interment at the B'nay Abraham Cemetery on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 with Rabbi Peretz Weizman officiating. Pallbearers were Lloyd Girman, Dr. Kenneth Zimmer, Shane Lasker, Mark Shinewald, Jeffrey Hurtig and Sheldon Fossaner. Special thanks to Linda Davidson of Cancer Care, and Claire and the other nurses and doctors at St. Boniface Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reh-Fit Centre or the Palliative Care Fund at the St. Boniface Hospital.
