Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE (KAY) YESKE (nee KOSTENUIK) April 27, 1913 - April 15, 2008 Passed away peacefully at the age of 94, after a short illness, on April 15, 2008 at Victoria General Hospital. She will be fondly remembered by nephew Ron Kostenuik, his wife Jeannette and their son Joe, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by Fred, her beloved husband of 59 years, her parents, eight brothers and three sisters. Kay was born at Gardenton, Manitoba and moved to Portage la Prairie with her parents at an early age. She married her husband Fred in Elm Creek, Manitoba on May 18, 1940 where they resided for 10 years. They moved to Winnipeg in 1950 and relocated to Kamloops, BC in 1960, then back to Winnipeg in 1970. Fred and Kay had a passion for nature and spent many happy days vacationing in the Whiteshell Park. They always enjoyed visitors from Vancouver, Kamloops and Kelowna, BC. Kay enjoyed reading and picking wild mushrooms and berries. She will be remembered for her warm and friendly smile. Special thanks to good friends, Emilie Brodowich and her late husband Ray who were always so supportive in her care. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 21, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberley Ave., Winnipeg. Viewing will be one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 211 Kimberley Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2K 0X3.
