Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARRY ALDEN BROWN Peacefully, with his family by his side, Barry passed away at the St. Boniface hospital in Winnipeg on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 7:44 p.m. Remaining to forever cherish Barry's memory are his wife of 43 years, Elaine; sons, Steven (Trista), Grant (Darlene) and daughters, Celeste (Jeff) and Selena (Frank), Brother, Murray and sisterin-law Edna; Grandchildren, Jessica, Angela, Joshua, Lauren, Juliano, Samantha, and Ann. Barry will be sadly missed by many other relatives, friends, and neighbors in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his mother Annie, his father Howard; step-father Charlie; and his premature granddaughter Tabitha. Barry was born on March 19, 1940 in Sintaluta, Saskatchewan. As an adolescent, he enjoyed horseback riding on Uncle Bill's farm. Barry began playing the guitar as a teenager and provided musical accompaniment for many family gatherings. Later as a young adult, Barry fostered his interest in customized automobiles by becoming a member of the Majestics Car Club in Regina. In his working life, Barry was a well-liked sales representative in the flooring industry where he made many close friendships while visiting his customers and their families. He enjoyed talking with people from all walks of life and finding the humor in the here and now. Barry's witty remarks would often inspire a chuckle from most everyone that he met. People found Barry sensitive, and compassionate. As his family grew, Barry's interests turned to gardening, woodworking, and other home improvements long before dedicated television channels made these projects appear so easy. He enjoyed his pet dogs, and was an avid admirer of wildlife. Barry enjoyed watching birds that would visit the back yard. Barry's favourite memories were from the family road trips to bicycle races. Although Barry did not practice a religious faith, he was a very spiritual man that touched the spirit of his family as well as the people he met in his life. Be at peace Dad, knowing that we all love you and that the memories will be in our hearts forever. In compliance with Barry's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Special thanks to the staff on the Intensive Care Ward at St. Boniface, especially Leo, who was caring and helpful. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that all who knew Barry remember his kind spirit by giving another person a hug or a handshake. As Dad wrote in his last moments: We're All Together .
