MICHAL (MIKE) LIPISCHAK 1930 2008 After a brief illness, it is with deep regret we announce the death of Mike on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Health Sciences Centre after 78 years of a good life in Winnipeg, MB. Remaining to forever cherish Mike's memory are his brother Steven; sister-in-law Cecelia; nieces, Amanda Lena-Anne and Nicole Anoria and husband Matthew. He will be sadly missed by all other family, friends and acquaintances. Mike had a varied career working as a Logger in Northern Manitoba, Bell Bottling and Drywall Contracting with good friend and partner Dan Brandt. He enjoyed a life long hobby of golfing at Rossmere Golf Course and at many of the golf courses around Manitoba. Mike's many golf trips were with the golfing Rat Pac of his closest friends. Along with his friends, Mike worked at establishing one of the first Snow Golf games played at Rossmere Golf Course. Golfing in Spain and Vancouver with his pals were some of his most enjoyable times spent in his middle years. He took great pleasure in the many trips around Manitoba with the Old Timers from Rossmere. As his golfing trips lessened, Mike enjoyed the golf weekends with country friend Glen Altstadt at his brother's cottage at Seven Sisters, MB. Mike also, in his later years, enjoyed his many weekends with his young nieces, Amanda and Nicole as they were growing up and picking raspberries in the family garden. In compliance with Mike's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. A gathering will be held in Mike's memory at his brother's residence, 154 Ruby Street on Sunday, April 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those who wish to pay their respects are most welcome. All are welcome to view pictures and stories of Mike's life. A private burial will take place at a later date. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and especially the Sitters who never left his side, were with Mike on a 24 hour basis on GD4 Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to the charity of one's choice.
