LEO WILLIAM HOWSON 1931 - 2008 Peacefully with his family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Leo Howson passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76. Leo is predeceased by his first wife of 45 years, Theresa Howson (LaPointe), his parents, Charles and Antoinette (Paul); brother Maurice, Edgar, John and sister Georgina. He is survived by his loving wife Jane Timony, sister Clara (Ken) and special sister-in-law Linda (John). Also left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sharon, Karen (Kent), grandchildren Aaron, Curtis, Amanda, Carly, as well as his great grandchildren Courtney, Cayden and Dallas, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Leo touched many hearts while working at CP Rail for 41 years and was affectionately known as the Old Dog until retiring in 1991. Leo was an active life member of the Brooklands and Weston Legion #2 where he held the position of president from 1994-1997. He belonged to the Old Timers Association, as well serving on many committees as chairperson. Leo was the proud recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal. In recent years Leo enjoyed spending time with his buddies fishing and playing pool. Leo also cherished his valuable family time as family always came first. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Henry for his care and compassion as well as all the staff at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leo's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Room ON1160 - 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Robert Polz presiding at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 172 Worth Street. Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715
