Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEUGENE HENZEL With love and great sadness, peacefully on April 19, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 70 years, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at home in the arms of his family. Eugene leaves to mourn his wife Denise of 49 years of marriage, his sons Farrell (Dolores), Darrell (Nyla) and daughter Monique. Grandchildren Etienne, Raeanne, Elise and Nicole, brothers Walter (Carol), Raymond (Dianne) and Donnie (Colleen), extended family Canaan, Jennifer, Colin, Patrick, Mandy, Albert, Tino, Tyler and Brett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was predeceased by his father Louis, mother Nellie, sister Elaine and her husband Maurice. He was born in Pansy, MB on June 10, 1937 and married the love of his life Denise (Legal) on June 13, 1959. Eugene's love for teaching and music spanned for 27 years. Eugene used that knowledge to teach many students, who later excelled in Manitoba's music industry. Eugene played music for many years with the Cavaliers , they were an established band playing at such venues as weddings, socials, legion halls etc. His passions in life were his children and grandchildren and spending time at the cottage at Malachi Lake ON. Prayers will be said 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Rd., Winnipeg. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Ste. Anne des Chenes Parish, 162 Centrale Ave., Ste. Anne MB, with Father René Chartier presiding. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Etiènne, Kevin, Richard, Brian, Donovan and Joel Henzel. The family wishes to thank Dr. Shojania, Maureen and staff of Manitoba CancerCare, Dr. Fredette and staff of Ste. Anne Hospital, with special thanks to Anne Plett of Palliative Care.
