Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD (DICK) LAWRENCE JOSEPH HAAS February 23, 1938 April 19, 2008 With great sadness, we announce the passing of Richard Haas in his 70th year in Victoria, B.C. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anne, grandson, James Alexander Morin and brother-in-law Leslie Vann. Richard is survived by his family, daughter Lou-Anne Morin (Christopher) and granddaughter Deanne (Dylan Tuffard); son Wayne (Annette); sisters, Margaret Stamp (Eldred), Ceceila Vann and Eleanor MacIntosh (LeRoy Mac ); brother Ronald (Louise); as well as many nieces, nephews and loved ones. Richard was born in Camp Morton, MB and raised in Gimli until he joined the navy in 1955. After he left the navy he worked at various jobs on Vancouver Island. After a serious car accident ten years ago he retired from the Fraternal Order of Eagles as manager. Since that time he has lived with his daughter and family in Victoria when he passed away suddenly from ill health. His wishes were to be buried in Gimli where his parents are buried. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 113-7th Ave in Gimli, MB. with Father Wayne Morrissey officiating. Interment will follow in the Gimli Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Jamie and Dominik Vann, Cody and Lyle Vann, Jeremy MacIntosh and Blair Haas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Richard's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
