Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEUGENE WILLIAM MAHLER October 17, 1915 - April 22, 2008 Eugene passed peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre after suffering a Massive Stroke. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice (Bertha) in 1992; his parents Mary and Louis Mahler; sister Frances; brother Laurence; stepchildren, Jerry, Buddy and Alan Sanderson. He is survived by his daughter Gail; son Larry (Deborah); stepdaughter Yvonne (Harold) Hardy of Alliston, ON; sister Margaret of Thunder Bay, ON; sister-in-law Alice Stefanson of Steep Rock, MB; brother-in-law Peter Dumas (Evelyn) of Winnipeg Beach; grandchildren, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Eugene served in the Armed Forces, and travelled many places in Canada and the United States while employed at Bristol Aerospace (30 years). Having his own crew, working on private and commercial airplanes said those were the happiest of times . And of course his love of cars was a great joy to him and us. His large collection of hub caps could be viewed by all when they lived on Kenaston Boulevard. His travels through the medical institutions these past three and one half years have been a journey unto itself. We wish to thank all those that cared and eased our burden at each stopping point. Especially the staff and support staff, etc. at Deer Lodge Centre 3 West. They made the last journey bearable. Cremation will take place and being the quiet man Eugene was we will have a private, family graveside service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in Eugene's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. Rest now Dad, we will Love and Miss you forever and always
