Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS IRENE FRASER (nee CROSSMAN) June 18, 1923 April 20, 2008 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home on April 20, 2008. Mom will be forever remembered by her three children: Marcia (Paul) Caton of Saskatoon, Jim Fraser of Oshawa and Jo-Anne (Ian) Duncan of Winnipeg; her brother Raymond Crossman of Winnipeg; four grandchildren: Brian (Jennifer) Caton, Carolyn (Rudy) Callbeck, Cheryl Fraser-Taylor and James (Rachael) Fraser; four great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Cody Taylor, Emma Callbeck and Jaden Caton. Mom was predeceased by her husband Arthur Fraser in 1977, her parents, and two of her brothers, Doug and Norman Crossman. Mom was born in Mazenod, Saskatchewan and spent most of her early life in Regina. She and Dad met and were married in Regina on September 6, 1948. Dad's career as a civil engineer with the C.P.R. meant a number of relocations to places including Regina, Wilkie, and Brandon. However, it was their many years in Winnipeg that we as a family remember with fondness. In 2000, with her health declining, Mom moved to Saskatoon to be closer to Marcia and her family who supported and cared for her during her last years. Mom worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life. When she retired from her position at St. Paul's High School she continued working for the Jesuit House and served on the board of her condominium corporation association. She was very active in the church and was President of the Catholic Women's League in Brandon. She enjoyed organizing events and meetings and was recognized for her public speaking abilities from an early age. Everyone knew Mom loved music, especially Andre Rieu and were all quick to tell her when he was coming to town or would be on T.V. She was always eager to travel and was fortunate to have travelled quite extensively. Mom loved to make people laugh and was so often a source of kindness, comfort and reason to all those who reached out to her. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday April 28, 2008 at St. Paul The Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg at 10:30 a.m. with the interment of ashes to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. A luncheon reception will follow at Chapel Lawn.
